Michael Martin

February 13, 1952 — November 23, 2022

Stoughton

Michael John Martin, of Stoughton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022 at the age of 70. Mike, as everyone knew him, was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 13, 1952 to John and Kathleen Martin, with whom he is now reunited. He is survived by his two sisters, Kathy (Jeff) Martin Horton and Pat Martin Adams, both of Stoughton, WI, as well as his brother Jeff (Jackie) Martin, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mike was a midwestern boy his entire life, residing in Illinois and Wisconsin. Mike’s family was the central part of his life and he loved to spend time with them, playing games, laughing, eating, talking, which was usually followed by more laughing and just enjoying each other’s company. He enjoyed listening to and exploring many types of music and could often be found scouring the library for some undiscovered artist to bring home and share with his siblings. Because he was a big kid at heart, his many nieces and nephews not only adored him, but thought he was pretty cool. He was known for his kindness and friendliness and rarely complained, no matter what challenge he may have been facing. Though he never traveled much himself, he studied many exotic and interesting places and greatly enjoyed being a part of his siblings travel experiences by researching things to do and see, as well as hearing all about it upon their return. Ironically, in the days prior to his death, he seemed to embrace the adventure that laid ahead for him and passed from this life with no fear or hesitation. No doubt he would have amazing stories to tell about his current journey and we will all be listening with our hearts. Godspeed Mike… A special thanks to his caregivers at Skaalen and Heritage Center and the ladies from Greenspire. Per Mike’s wishes, there will be no service. He will be laid to rest next to his parents in Chicago. Please share your memories of Mike by posting on his Tribute Wall at: www.CressFuneralService.com.
