Jeanne Grover

March 4, 1925 — January 22, 2021

On January 22nd at the age of 95, Jeanne Marie Grover passed away with her family by her side. She will be remembered for her vitality, her active spirit and her love of family and laughter.

Jeanne was born on March 4, 1925 in Cincinnati, OH – the daughter of Millie and George Rehm. As the youngest of four, Jeanne loved her nieces and nephews who blessed her older siblings. She was always the “fun aunt.”

Jeanne worked hard to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in Zoology and Chemistry.

Jeanne met Albert Grover while working together in research at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. They were married on August 9, 1958, and so began a legacy of love. They moved to Madison in 1959.

Jeanne relished every role she had – Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Neighbor and Friend. She was always up for crazy adventures and she did all of her own stunts along the way!

Jeanne loved to read, volunteer and garden, especially her tomatoes. She had a soft spot for any dog she met, and she cherished family camping trips to northern Wisconsin. Jeanne loved family and any reason to celebrate, often leading the charge.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert, her parents, her sister Beverly, and brothers Roger and Paul.

Jeanne’s memory is proudly honored by her children: Maureen (Ron) Bula, Paul (Janeen) Grover, Claudia (Jan) Lease and Shawn Grover (Ellen Lawrence); her grandchildren Patrick Bula, Justine Bula (David Oglesby), Shannon Grover, Mackenzie Grover, Brad Lease (Tylor Tuomi), Katie Lease (Kory Peterson) and Jessica Grover (Charles Braxton); and her great-grandson Kolton Peterson.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S. Owen Dr. Madison on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 11:00 am Central Time.
