Erin Elizabeth King, age 38, of Madison left this world on Sunday, February 14, 2021. She was born on November 18, 1982 in Winfield, IL, daughter of Michael D. King and Linda L. King (nee: Skorczewski). Erin married Christopher Ryan Beck on June 22, 2013 in Madison. Together they had their wonderful son, Finn, who was the light of her life.
Erin graduated from Madison Area Technical College in 2013 with her Associate Degree in Fashion Marketing (and worked for Macy’s.) Erin had a heartfelt love of creative expression with a sensitive introspective twist. From early on, Erin loved to color, draw and write. Her curiosity to experience creative avenues enabled Erin to grow, build and fine tune her special gifts. Erin had a strong fashion sense and innate visual sensitivity. She was poised in verbal and written communication that reflected her creative nature and intuitive understanding of others.
Erin’s most precious moments are those she had with her son, delighting in his laugh and playfulness. She loved watching him learn and grow and cherished every moment that they shared, playing games, watching movies and hiking….anything she was doing with Finn. Erin had a deep love for her sister, Leah and looked forward to a future with more time and adventure with her sister.
Erin had a contagious laugh, quick wit, and dry sense of humor with a touch of sarcasm. She found beauty, peace and serenity in being in nature and in her yoga practice.
Through life’s challenges and opportunities, Erin approached every new adventure with great enthusiasm. She turned every corner, met every challenge with a determined energy. She never stopped trying to make things better. Erin’s striking blue eyes were bright and beautiful and full of love and possibility. We will hold that love forever in our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
Erin is survived by her son, Finn Ryan Beck; parents Michael D. King and Linda L. King; sister Leah Elissa King; former husband Christopher Beck; special aunt Bonnie Skorczewski; cousin Joseph (Carissa) Skorczewski; mentor and special friend Suzanne Klumb; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Joseph and Valeria (Dombroski) Skorczewski; paternal grandparents Bobby N. and Arleen (Bourke) King; and special uncle James Skorczewski.
