Emma Earl

November 2, 1947 — October 7, 2021

Emma Earl passed away at UW-Hospital on Thursday, October 7, 2021.  She was born to Ernest and Anna Mae Mitchell in Madison Wisconsin on November 2, 1947, and resided here, her entire life.

Emma graduated from Central High School in 1965 and attended Tennessee State University.  She worked for IBM for 30-years.  Her love for gardening was expressed in the succulents and flowers that she lovingly tended to.  Additionally, she enjoyed scouring flea markets, garage sales and junk shopping, looking for unique and whimsical items that she lovingly shared with others.  In her retirement, she was a devoted volunteer with Today Not Tomorrow Inc. Her favorite project was TNT-Project Babies, and the Community Baby Showers where she created the Flea Market that families enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Kwame and Billy McDonald.

Survivors include siblings: Jack (Pat) Mitchell, Carolyn Hargrove, Betty Banks all of Madison, Ralph (LaMonica) Mitchell, North Carolina, Arlene (Michael) Grice, Michigan and Evette Mitchell, Arizona; nieces, Sheila Greene, Shari Darkeeyah Mitchell, Carla Phillips all of Georgia, Dana (Auguste) Roc, Shauna Mitchell, all of New York, Denise Hicks (Anthony), Texas, Deirdre (Eric) Krieghoff, Madison; nephews, Mitchell McDonald, Minnesota, Darel Hargrove, Devin Hargrovelan Banks, both of Madison, Jay Mitchell, Michigan, Max Marion, Marcus (Starr) Marion, all of Texas, Ernest (Lauren) Mitchell, Mason (Holly) Mitchell, all of North Carolina and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
