Madison: Philip John Olson, age 66, passed away at home on October 31st, 2019 after a long fought battle with health complications. Phil was born in
Dodgeville, Wisconsin on November 4th, 1952 to Joseph and Alice (Doyle) Olson.
Nothing was more important to Phil than his loved ones, friends, and animals. He was the definition of a family man to say the least.
Phil always wanted to be present for every part of his sons and grandson's lives. It was incredibly important to him to always capture as many moments and memories in their lives as he could, whether it be by video, picture, or simply writing something down. He was incredibly proud of his boys & would have traveled to the moon and back for them.
Phil was a highly respected Realtor in Dane County for many years and a Realtor with Restaino and Associates for the last 25 years. Phil's dedication to his clients was exemplified each day, but never was it more apparent than when he was diligently working on his client's behalf up until the day before his passing.
Phil is survived by his wife Becky, sons Jeremy and Justin (Kaylen Dowell), grandson Oakley Philip, brother Joe of Kenosha, WI, sister Jane (Norman) Hanson,
and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Lisa Schumann, sister-in-law Marianne Olson, and nephew Jamie Hanson.
Phil's honesty, selflessness, and dry sense of humor will be cherished and remembered forever by everyone in his life. A mentor to many, he will be
missed immeasurably & indefinitely.
Phil was a man of strong faith. He attended Sunday Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church up until he was no longer able.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on November 7th, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Dr., Madison, WI 53717,
with visitation at 9:00 am.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center under the Lung Cancer Research General Fund, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Foundation, and to the Dane County Humane Society.
Please share your memories.

Becky, I am so incredibly sad to hear that Phil passed away. To say he was a wonderful man is an understatement. As you know, I worked with both of you for 12 years at Restaino. He was always there early ready to greet me with a smile. He gave really good hugs too! I know how devoted he was to his beloved family, his doggies and his real estate career. Godspeed Phil and RIP. - Joy Chapman

Rest in Peace Phil. You fought like a champ.
Becky, I was very sad to read of Phil’s passing. I would see Phil around occasionally and had some good memories. Phil was a good guy and I liked him. Thinking of you and your family at this time. Jerry Smith

Happy Birthday Phil!! We love and miss you! The Colorado Olsons!
I met Phil through my husband, Dave Olson and their friends, Jeff Whitman and Chris Garver. We visited Wisconsin with our sons Erik and Ryan Olson and Phil was always a fantastic friend and amazing influence with our sons, We always feel well of our moments with Phil although over the years it was limited, we always appreciate the tie spent. We will miss you dearly Phil. Please stay near in spirit..
This is a sad sad day. Phil and I (Dave Olson) go way back to early high school. We spent a summer on our farm raising tobacco in 68. We lived together on a ranch house outside of middleton in our rebel days of 71. This picture is when we went to the bay area and stayed for a while. We have gotten toghter at least once evey year since. He is my best friend for all time. Love You
Best Friends for 54 years!

Becky, I am so sorry to hear of Phil's passing. What a wonderful man he was as well as colleague. I hope you and your family can find strength in all the great memories you have of him. My condolences to all of you.
Oh Becky, we’re so sorry. I knew and worked with Phil for over 40 years, he was the consummate professional in his work and always a gentleman in every sense of the word. What a loss. Our deepest sympathy to you and your boys. --Gary and Andy Stebnitz
I'm so sorry to hear about Phil, he and my brother Forrest were great friends that go way back to high school. I was in college but know he was an honorary member of my family and spent many a night of adolescent adventures with my brother. He will always be remembered as special friend into adulthood. I know Fort will miss him greatly. I'm so sorry I was unable to attend the service, but will always remember Phil as a special person.. Love, Claudia Lipke
