Zona Boelsing

MADISON - Zona D. Boelsing, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on October 8, 1923, a date she shared with her twin sister Zelda. She was the daughter of Rudolph and Sarah Keller Boelsing and sister to Gordon. She attended Randall School and graduated from East High School in 1941. She went on to graduate from the UW School of Nursing and worked as a nurse at UW Hospital & Clinics for 42 years. While working there she made many lifelong friends who shared her love of Badger Football and Hockey as well as Sundays as the Symphony with dinner afterwards.
Zona was a special Aunt who was always there to lend a helping hand, sing a song or hand out little bags of goodies, and will be missed very much. She is survived by her sister Zelda Klouda and her many nieces and nephews, which now include great and great-great. A picnic for family and friends to celebrate her life is planned for the future.
Zona's family would like to express their special thanks to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for the loving care they gave to Zona and for their support of her family. They made her journey a peaceful one.
