Madison-Zhumin Zhang, MS, PhD, age 48, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 10th 2022 in Madison. She was born in Laizhou, Shandong, China on February 13th, 1974 to Xiangpu Zhang and Wenlan Quin.
Zhumin received her bachelor’s degree at China Agricultural University in 1997. She earned multiple advanced degrees at UW-Madison, including master’s degrees in biometry and statistics, and a PhD in nutritional sciences. She was a skilled and highly collaborative person with particular expertise and interest in the fields of epidemiology, nutrition, cystic fibrosis, and chronic pediatric diseases.
Zhumin leaves behind her beloved husband, Chen Ding and her son, Howell Ding. She is also survived by her beloved parents and her younger brother, Songtao Zhang. Zhumin doted on her son and supported him in pursuing all of his interests, including golf, which is his particular passion. Those who know her will always reflect on Zhumin as a true lady with grace, dignity, spirituality, and a world of life accomplishments.
A visitation will be held from 1-3pm on November 29th. A service will follow at 3pm service.
Zhumin was an amazing and highly valued friend. We will miss her.
