Young Morton

Young Cleve "Boe" Morton passed away on March 13, 2013. He was born on June 7, 1957 in Marquette, Michigan and grew-up on the "South Side" of Madison. He will be remembered for his smile, hopefulness, love of music, and athletic prowess. Boe offered everyone he met a sincere: "Everything's gonna be alright." His athletic accomplishments began as a "South Side Raider" and continued as a semi-professional in football (Wisconsin Express) and boxing (Tough Man Competition). As for music, he loved to sing and dance and nicknamed himself, "Motown Morton." He was a man of many hopes and dreams. Boe is survived by his daughters, Nikia D. and Tiffany M. Morton; son, Tyler C. Morton; stepson, Jamie Yancey; granddaughter, Jaida Kroning; father, James W. Morton; step-mother, June Morton; sister, Angela D. Morton; and sister-in-law, Dawn M. Fontaine; brothers, James, Wesley, Joseph, Jesse and Michael; nieces, Andrea, Prenetta, Jessica, Danielle and Natalie; nephews, Jay (Olson), Wesley, Brendan, Joseph, Chandler, Dillion, Jaymes and Joseph; aunt, Joan Bush (Morton); and many first and second cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Doreen Ann Eberle (Morton). A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Special thanks to Dan Barlow and the staff of REM, as well as the physicians and nurses of the University of Wisconsin Hospital, TLSC Unit, for their care of Boe in his time of need.
