Worth E. Tiffany

October 29, 1935 — December 8, 2024

Deerfield

Worth Elton Tiffany was born on October 29, 1935 and peacefully entered his heavenly home on December 8, 2024 surrounded by family. He was born to Russell and Viola (Updike) Tiffany and enjoyed growing up on the farm where he learned to work hard, value family and be a good neighbor. He was also the master of opening doors for others, a firm handshake and a sarcastic comeback. He graduated from Edgerton High School and attended UW Madison. On June 18, 1960, he married the love of his life, Ruth Jerdee, at West Koshkonong Church and they were happily married for over 64 years. Together they built a home in Janesville. One summer he worked at General Motors placing the grill on ’57 Chevys. Later they moved to Deerfield where he was the CEO of the Bank of Deerfield for 14 years.

He was involved in his community and his children’s activities. He coached the 1976 Bank of Deerfield’s Championship Little League team. He enjoyed living in Deerfield where he had countless friends. Worth served his church, St. Paul’s Liberty Lutheran Church by spearheading and chairing the committee for their new narthex which was completed in 2000.

Worth and Ruth loved camping, dancing, playing euchre and traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. He enjoyed gardening and participating in the Deerfield farmer’s market where he shared his crop of tomatoes with friends and his daughter, Judy’s restaurant. He also looked forward to the fall season when he would drive tractor at the pumpkin farm. Above all, he loved gathering with friends and family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Worth is survived by his wife, Ruth, daughters Cheryl (Mark) Rice, Judy Knoernschild, son Kerry (Michelle) Tiffany and grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Aberth, Daniel (Colleen) Rice, Chuckie, Pisey, Abi, Michael Knoernschild, Kaitlyn and Jacob Tiffany, his great grandchildren, Henry and Eleanor Rice and Oliver Aberth, sister Kaye (Walt) Bendorf, brother Gary (Gloria) Tiffany and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Faye Thompson and Keith Tiffany.
