Wilma Ginder

October 17, 1917 — December 23, 2014

MADISON- Wilma Ginder, age 97, passed away on December 23, 2014 at Wynwood Assisted Living Facility. Wilma was born on Oct. 17, 1917 in Elkhart, Indiana, the daughter of Edward and Beulah Good. After graduating from high school, Wilma pursued a nursing career at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, graduating in 1939 and becoming a registered nurse. During World War II she worked as an industrial nurse for the Bendix Corp. in South Bend, Indiana. In 1943 she married Norman Ginder and after the war they moved to Chicago briefly before settling in Elmhurst, Illinois. In retirement, the couple travelled in their Airstream camper before settling in Pardeeville to be near their grandchildren. Wilma was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid reader of science, medicine and the universe. She had a keen mind for problem solving and was very inquisitive. She was a true inspiration, always putting the needs of others above her own.
Wilma is survived by her son, Toby (Judy) Ginder, and grandchildren Erin (Marty) Mathias and Eric (Sutra) Ginder.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Velda and Jewel, husband, and her son, Ronald.
A private funeral service will be held at Cress Funeral Home followed by interment at Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice for their exceptional care of Wilma in her final days. Memorials may be sent to Agrace.
