William Richard Thill

William Richard Thill (Bill), age 75, of Greenfield, WI, passed away on October 9, 2025, at West Allis Memorial Hospital in West Allis, WI.

Born on April 26, 1950, in Darlington, WI, Bill was the beloved son of William Peter Thill and Loretta Ann (Finley) Thill. He is survived by his sister, Loretta Mae Thill; his goddaughter, Stacy Hardwick; and his godson, John Hardwick III. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Thomas F. Bartel. 

Bill attended Holy Rosary School in Darlington, Lapham School in Madison, and the Janesville School for the Visually Impaired. After graduation, he moved to the Milwaukee area, where he lived until his passing.

A lifelong fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Bill found great joy in listening to their games. He also cherished visits to the Wisconsin Dells with his goddaughter, Stacy—moments filled with laughter and connection. Bill was a kind and gentle man, known for his quiet strength and a touch of stubbornness that made him all the more endearing. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held on October 21, 2025, at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53705. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM and a light lunch. Bill will be laid to rest at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington, WI.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lion's Club of Wisconsin.
