William F. Pfeiffer, age 81, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at his home. He was born in Sheboygan County on Friday, August 13,1943, to the late William and Georgine (Nauth) Pfeiffer.
Bill grew up in New Holstein, WI, graduating from New Holstein Public High School in 1961. He attended Lakeland College for the first two years of college while living at home, transferring to UW Madison and graduating with his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1966. Bill worked for HOMZ Partners, a developer of primarily subsidized housing in Iowa and Wisconsin, for many years.
Bill had many hobbies and loved to share them with others. Bill played in sports leagues for many years, recently enjoying weekly pickle ball games. He loved riding his motorcycle with friends, taking in concerts and plays, and exploring his family genealogy. He planted a large vegetable garden every year and shared his bounty with neighbors. Bill knew someone everywhere he went, and he delighted in connecting people to new interests and to one another.
Bill is survived by his partner of 35 years, Virginia (Ginny) Thoma, his close friend Daryl (Willie) Wilde, and numerous Pfeiffer and Nauth cousins, as well as friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Colleen.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25th, 2024 at Midvale Community Lutheran Church in Madison, WI at 12pm, with visitation beginning at 11am. Bill will be interred at Kiel Belitz Cemetery in Kiel, WI at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Midvale Community Lutheran Church.
