William Losby

Madison – Bill Losby, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30th, 2025. He was born June 19th, 1948, in Madison, WI, the son of Ted and Kay Losby.

Bill graduated from Edgewood HS and went to UW Platteville until he was drafted into the US Army and served our country in Vietnam. Upon his return, he worked for the UW Athletic Department and eventually retired after 30 years.

Bill found great joy in spending time outdoors and exploring all the best spots in Madison. He loved to hike, camp, and road trip throughout the US. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, meeting for lunch or drinks (or both). He told the best stories!

Bill will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Kara and siblings, Tom Losby, Carol (John) Dunne, Ted (Kathy) Losby, Mary (Rob) Engelhart, Lisa (Randy) Licht and was adored by his nieces and nephews. Bill was an amazing father, brother/brother in-law, uncle and son. “Hey Mr. Bad Boy, continue your journey on the wild side. You’re our #1 Rock Star!!”
