In Loving Memory
William E. Kesler, 93, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Bill was a Madison resident for the past 15 years.
Bill was born on August 8, 1920 in Roanoke, Virginia where he lived until he joined the Army Air Corps. He served his country in World War II as a navigator, earning several medals for flying missions over Europe.
Bill married Anne Colletti on May 1, 1944 and together they raised four children. Bill graduated from Lincoln University Law School in California, then practiced law in the San Francisco Bay Area. Towards the end of his career, he was proud to have been called to serve as a judge in several jurisdictions.
Bill is survived by his children, daughter Julie Kesler (Tom Grant) of Seattle WA, son Bill Kesler of Walton KY, and daughter Susan (Alan) Sweet of Madison; four grandchildren, Deborah (Dan) Wormald, Kristina (Jim) Littrell, Brenda Yaskal, and Michael Sweet (Rochelle Reed); eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ethel (Davis) Kesler, wife Anne, daughter Barbara, daughter-in-law Dee, sister Betty Ann, and sister and brother-in-law Mary and Pat Murphy.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home 3325 East Washington, Madison. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service at the funeral home.
