Walter Trevor Brown
WINDSOR - Walter Trevor Brown, age 93, passed away at his home on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 with his loving family by his side.
He was born on April 14, 1921 in Columbus, OH, the son of Walter and Suzanne Brown.
Trevor graduated from Northwestern Academy, graduated Knox College, then enlisted in the army.
Trevor was a WWII hero and was awarded the Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. He was a Platoon Leader in the 3rd Infantry Division, the unit that had the most time on the front line and most men killed and wounded. He fought in Sicily, France, Germany and Austria.
Trevor married Margaret C. Hyslop on June 5, 1948. They resided in Seattle, WA and Park Forest, IL for 14 years and Windsor, WI since 1967. They had three children. He worked in the paper conversion industry. He served on the Board and enjoyed life in the Lake Windsor community.
Trevor loved caring and providing for his family - especially son Bill (Bubba) who had Down Syndrome and lived with Trevor and Marg all their lives. In retirement he loved to socialize, watch TV, do crosswords and breakfast out with friends.
Trevor is survived by his two children, Jeff (Diane) Brown of the Villages, FL, and Karla Winningham of Laguna Vista, TX; two grandsons, Brandon Winningham (active military USAF), of Little Rock AR and Justin Winningham of Minot ND; and four great grandchildren, Cody Evans, Evan and Jonah Winningham, and Jade Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 3416 Swansee Ridge, Sun Prairie on Wednesday September 24, 2014 at 11am with Father Mike Tess officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service, luncheon will follow the service, graveside service will be held at Vienna Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Trevor to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
