Virginia Knutson

Sun Prairie - Virginia "Ginny" Lucille Knutson, age 81, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI.

Virginia was born on December 12, 1931 in Richland County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Nora (Hughes) Draves. She married Calvin Knutson on April 18, 1959. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2004.

Virginia was a longtime resident of Sun Prairie. Virginia also lived in Cottage Grove and Swansboro, NC. Virginia was a member of the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church and she enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidering, her road trips to see family and friends and especially spending time with her family.

Virginia is survived by her 4 children, Debbie (Joel) Schenck of Sun Prairie, Peggy (Neil) Henley of W. Columbus, Texas, Terry (Anna) Knutson of Iowa and Tom Knutson (Renee Billings) of WI/AZ; 6 grandchildren, Siera (Jesse Ditchuk), Camaron, Michael (Kristen Eldridge), Kelsi, Derek and Carissa (James Turner); 2 great grandchildren, Trinity Turner and Thomas Knutson and one sister, Mary (Roy) Fonstad of Holmen, WI.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings and her husband, Calvin.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie at 4:00 PM. Pastor Frank Gaylord will officiate. A visitation will also be held at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church in her memory.
