Violette Marie Lauridsen, 89, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 24, 2014.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Vicki, moved to Wisconsin in 1945 to marry Robert Solem. They built a home outside of Middleton, where they raised their two children: Eric and Cynthia. Vicki was a trained nurse, educated at Methodist College of Nursing in Philadelphia and the College of Saint Francis, where she received a Bachelor's of Science degree. She continued her career until she retired.
After the death of her first husband, Vicki moved to the north side of Madison, near Lake Mendota, where she remained for the rest of her life. She married James Lauridsen, who also pre-deceased her.
Vicki is survived by her two children: Eric Solem, (Patricia Mack) of Littleton, CO; Cynthia Solem of Santa Cruz, CA; and four grandchildren: Raphael Sonnenfeld of Capitola, CA.; Joshua Sonnenfeld of Oakland, CA; Katie Solem of Aurora, CO, and Allison Solem of Ft.Morgan, CO.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Alice Hetzel; a sister, Alice Gewetzki, a brother, Raymond Hetzel, a granddaughter, Carly Solem, as well as her two husbands.
A memorial service will take place at 7:00 pm on July 31 in the Atrium Room at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave., Madison, WI 53704. Per her wishes, Vicki's ashes will be scattered at Cape May, New Jersey.
