Stoughton-Violet Haried, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Harbor House in Stoughton. She was born in Stoughton on June 20, 1918, daughter of Carl and Clara (Anderson) Nettum. Her mother passed away when she was only 6 months old but she was raised lovingly by her Uncle Alvin and Aunt Helga Christianson. On August 13, 1938, she was united in marriage to Ingvald Haried in Dubuque, IA. Together they resided in Dunkirk and Stoughton and had 6 children. She loved her children and grandchildren and cherished all her family visits. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Stoughton and was active in Circle 21 for many years. She worked several jobs outside of the home but her most cherished job was being a wonderful Mom and homemaker. Her children are, Susan (Keith) Slinde, James (Joanne) Haried, deceased daughter Judy (Richard) Boyd, Rodney (JoAnn) Haried, David (Julie) Haried, and Vicky (Bruce) Goplen, several grandchildren and great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ingvald; her daughter, Judy and her sister, Borghild Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 206 W. Prospect, Stoughton on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Halom from First Lutheran Church. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Following the service, a lunch will be served at the American Legion. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Violet's name to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711 or First Lutheran Church, 310 East Washington Street, Stoughton, WI 53589. The family would like to give extra special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Harbor House and to the staff from Agrace HospiceCare for the tender care Violet received.
