Violet Genin

Violet Kathryn Genin, age 92, passed away early Saturday morning March 17, 2018. Violet was the daughter of George and Kathryn (O'Connor) Genin. She was born on April 5, 1925 and raised in the Montrose Township on the family farm near Verona, WI. In 1946 the family moved to Madison, WI.

Violet is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Robert Merkel, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and brothers-in-law Arlene and Robert Voelz, Leona and Lawrence Meyer, and her brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Marian Genin.

Violet's family would like to thank her many caregivers at Saint Mary's Care Center. As you watched over her with expert and tender care, Violet was content, safe, and blessed. We are very grateful.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding. Family will greet friends, at church, one hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
