Madison, WI -- Viola V. Scholz (nee Lindgren), born April 7, 1914 in Marvin, South Dakota, died on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in Madison, WI. Vi was first of nine children of Carl V. and Alma V. (Swanson) Lindgren. She was married to Philip R. Dickie from December 28, 1938 until June of 1954, and to Harold F. ""Bob"" Scholz from June 14, 1958 until February 10, 1994. Vi grew up in Watertown, South Dakota, subsequently living in Little Falls, Minnesota, Rhinelander, Wausau and Shawano, Wisconsin. She returned to Watertown after Bob's death; then lived her last six years in Madison, WI. Vi is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. ""Bobbie"" Dickie of Madison, WI; grandson, Richard A. Dickie; step-son, John F. Scholz (Teddi) of Highland Park, IL; their children, Matt (Mia), Amanda (Paul) and Beth (Matt); and John's four grandchildren. She is further survived by three siblings, Shirley (Gene) Shields; Phyllis (Pharis) Johnson and Joann (Bob) Hubbard. In addition, she is survived by 34 nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Bob; and five siblings, Gladys (Treb) Williams, Lester (Thelma) Lindgren, Virginia (Sid) Rund, Doris (Chuck) Kosier and Lois (Jerry) Roesch. A graveside service and interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano, WI at a later date.
