MADISON- Vincent J. Accardo, age 91, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016.
Vince was preceded in death by his wife Mona Accardo, first wife Antoinette Accardo, brother Peter Accardo, sister Kathryn Arbisi, son Carl Accardo, and daughter Therese Cuccia. He is survived by his brothers, Carl Accardo (Donna) of IL, Joseph Accardo (Ruth) of AZ, daughter Frances Paltz (David) of Madison, Nina Accardo (Charles Coberly) of NC, Mary Brinsko of Necedah, and JoAnn Claussen (Lyle) of Waunakee; step-children Louis "Chip" Meyers (Brenda) of FL, Pamela Jiru of Madison, Jody Schreiber (Jay) of CA, and Michelle Moran of Madison, many nieces and nephews, 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He had friends of all ages throughout the years, and many who helped him as he grew older and kept him young. We can't thank you enough.
He joined the military after high school. He was initiated into the Steamfitters Local 394 on March 18, 1952. He was an active member for thirty years and a master welder. He was a proud Red Cross blood donor. Because of his blood type, he was frequently called for emergencies. He liked to tell stories so those who knew him, knew his life's many accomplishments, and jokes. He has been appropriately described as someone who made an impression, and that goes either way.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 404 E. Main St., Madison, WI 53703.
