Victoria Joyal

June 23, 1961 — November 19, 2014

Madison - Vicki passed away at home on Wednesday morning at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer.
Vicki was born in Madison on June 23, 1961 to Lowell and Betty (Tschan) Lenz. Vicki was married to her husband Marc Joyal for 26 years. They raised their two sons Jake (25) and Kurt (23) on Madison's West side just blocks away from where Vicki spent her entire childhood. Her sons are the stars of her life and they were her inspiration in her battle with cancer. Vicki grew up at the Hill Farms pool and continued swimming at West. She loved horses and dogs and showed Arabians with her mom and sister and showed labs as an adult. Vicki loved to watch tennis and hockey and was a huge Badger hockey fan. She loved everything Badgers and the Packers.
Vicki graduated from Madison West High School in 1979 and immediately started college at the UW in the summer. She received her master's degree from the UW in 1984 and pursued a career in Market Research with AAL in Appleton before relocating to Madison in 1988 to work for CUNA, Inc. After working for CUNA for 17 years, she hit the glass ceiling as the VP of Market Research with numerous publications to her credit. Vicki then coupled her talents with her friend Cyndi Vendon and the two founded CVJ Solutions, a consulting firm for financial institutions. Vicki was also the backbone of Crossovers Pro Shops which is her family owned business. She loved spending time at the rink and ordering all the "gitchy" things that kids and moms like to buy. She made new friends in the Figure Skating Club of Madison and the West Madison Polar Caps and really enjoyed the relationships she formed with them.
She is survived by her husband Marc and her two sons Jake and Kurt, her father Lowell (Jean) Lenz of Prescott Valley Arizona, brother's family David and Jill Lenz and their kids Brandon and Taylor of Sun Prairie, brother's family Brad and De Lenz of Waunakee and sister's family Marsue and Mike Obremski and their daughter Alyssa of McFarland and her friend Colleen McCarthy.
She was preceded in death by her mother Betty, with whom she will be happily reunited, as well as her grandparents, Stuart and LaVerne Bell and Sadie and Arthur Lenz.
In honor of Vicki's affinity for hockey, the Badgers and Packers we ask that you show your colors and come dressed comfortably to this event in your favorite team wear, it's a celebration of life, dress for it. Visitation and a memorial service will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road in Madison on Monday, November 24. Visitation will held at 10:30 am followed by a memorial service at Noon.
