Victor V. Vaade passed away peacefully on September 6th at the age of 99.
Victor was born October 17, 1926, in Stoughton, Wisconsin. He was the son of Olaf and Anna Vaade. He married Barbara Long on February 8th, 1947. They were high school sweethearts and enjoyed 79 years together.
Victor was inducted into the Army his senior year of high school. He was stationed in Finschhafen, New Guinea and Leyte Island, Philippines. Upon his return from the Pacific, he went to Madison Business College. Upon graduation, he entered the State Of Wisconsin Civil Service. His first job was with Neglected Children in Sparta. His last 18 years he was employed by the Waupun State Prison as Associate Warden of Administration.
Victor was always active in sports as a spectator and participant. He officiated high school football and basketball for 15 years. He was very dedicated to running and biking. He rode his bike until age 91. Fishing in his Jon boat was very relaxing and enjoyable for him. His hobby was wood carving. He leaves us many characters which were his original designs. He enjoyed music and played his tapes as he carved. He was proud of his family and wanted the best for each one of them. He leaves many fun and lasting memories for all grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vic and Barbara loved to travel and enjoyed many trips. The family took summer camping trips to northern Wisconsin that were very special to all the family. Vic and Barbara visited most of the States, National Parks, and some Presidential Museums. He enjoyed their trip to Norway where he was happy to walk the streets that his mother walked. They also made many trips to Hawaii. He made friends easily over the years and was loved by many.
He is survived by his children Robert (Lyn) Vaade, James (Kathy) Vaade, Jane (Pete) Boelter, and Ann (Bill) Frederiksen. Grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Mason, Isaac (Brandy) Hull, Ethan (Beth) Vaade, Erin (Mike) Potts, and Anna Frederiksen. Great grandchildren Niki, Victor, Cecilia, Norah, Asher, Madison, Abigail, Mathias, Elena, and Billie-Rose. Step Grandchildren Eric Boelter and Sarah Murray. Adopted grandchildren Levi Vaade and Adrianna Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by Daughter Mary Kathryn, Brothers Olaf, Vernon, Arnold, Leo, Charles, and Sisters Ingrid, Sally, Agnes, and Hazel.
In honor of Victor's request, a private gathering for immediate family will take place at a later date.
