Vernon Ripp

WAUNAKEE-Vernon J. Ripp went to his eternal home in Heaven on December 1st, 2014. He was born on July 27, 1927, to James and Eleanor (Meier) Ripp. He was married to Doris Spahn on Sept. 22, 1949. Together they raised 4 children; Ron (Nancy) of Poynette, Tom of Waunakee, JeanAnn (Don) Stronach of Rio, and Dan (Lori) of Waunakee; six grandchildren, Jason Ripp, Travis Stronach, Brandon (fianc�e Nykole) Stronach, Matthew Ripp, Michelle (Joel) Acker, and Mike (Kelly Ziegler) Ripp; five great-grandchildren, Azyiah, Conor and Corwin Ripp, Brooks Acker, Kenadi Ziegler Ripp; one sister, Charlene Arnold and many nieces and nephews and relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dick Ripp; and a brother-in-law, Jim Arnold.

Vernon farmed most of his life in the Waunakee area. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren, going to their sporting events and school programs. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Badger Steam and Gas Engine club. He enjoyed going to antique tractor shows and also collecting tractors. Vernon loved the land and found peace in taking care of it. He was proud to be a farmer.

Funeral services will be held on Sat. Dec. 6, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St John's Catholic Church, 209 South St Waunakee. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
