Vale E. Hagel

Vale Ellen Hagel, a remarkable woman of strength, conviction, and deep devotion to her family, passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on December 29, 1941, Vale lived a life defined by resilience, love, and unwavering principles. She was an amazing, strong-willed mother whose guidance and determination shaped the lives of all who knew her. Her beliefs in the Masonic family and its values were an important part of her life, reflecting her commitment to integrity, fellowship, and service.

Vale’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and matriarch whose presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Fred William Hagel, and her children: Donald Doan, Debra Seamen, Diane Doan, Aaron Hagel, Frederick Hagel, and Kathryn Hagel-Wingier.

Special Acknowledgment: Vale will always love her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She held their dreams to the fullest and believed deeply in their potential, carrying each of them in her heart with pride, hope, and unconditional love.

Vale’s legacy lives on through the strength she instilled, the values she upheld, and the love she gave so freely. She will be remembered with gratitude, admiration, and enduring love.

A celebration of Vale's life will be from 12-3:30 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 5202 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison, WI 53716.
