Truman Erickson

February 16, 1927 — December 22, 2013

Stoughton- Truman G. Erickson, age 86, of Stoughton passed away on Dec. 22, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare of Fitchburg. He was born on Feb. 16, 1927 in Stoughton, Wisc. The son of George and Marlin (Larson) Erickson. He married Carol Hanson on Nov. 3, 1951.
Truman was a lifelong resident of Stoughton, after school he joined the Army and served over seas as a sergeant during WWII. After the war Truman returned home and worked road construction with Rein Schultz and Dahl, Erickson Crushing, and Rosenbaum Construction until his retirement. He was a former Past Commander of the VFW Post 328, Dane County Council, and a member of the Cooties.
Some of Trumans favorite hobbies were fishing, deer hunting, auto racing, the Brewers, the Packers, and playing cards.
Truman will be survived by his five children; Larry (Lori), Tom (Rhonda), Gary, Barb Dodson, and Donna Iverson. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Brian, Chad, Tyler, Rory, Zach, Sam, Dayna, Kyle, Mike, Andy, Erin, 8 great-grandchildren, his brothers George (Marge) and Rodger (Sharon), and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, son-in-law Les Dodson, and 8 brothers Sanford, Gilman, Phillip, Sidney, Julian, Earl, Rueben and Neal.
Services will be held 12 Noon on Sat. Dec. 28, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home 206 W. Prospect, Stoughton. With a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Skaalen Home for their years of care and friendship.
