Timothy C.
Larson
Dec 2, 1955 — Jun 19, 2026
Timothy Carl “Tim” Larson, cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully on the sunny Friday morning of June 19, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Tim was born on December 2, 1955, to Don and Jean (Meudt) Larson at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison and grew up in both La Crosse and Madison, Wisconsin with his parents and brother and sister Mark and Jill.
Tim developed a lifelong love for sports and aviation at an early age. From basketball and baseball in grade school where his 1971 West All-Stars little league team played in the Little League World Series to playing football in high school to being a walk-on for UW Madison Football his freshman year.
Tim was a 1974 graduate from Madison West High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1978, while also working towards and earning his Pilot’s license. He then went on to spend almost 40 years soaring above the clouds as a Pilot, first for Basler, then Mesaba, Northwest Orient Airlink, Eastern, TWA and lastly United Airlines. He approached every takeoff with expertise and every landing with grace, leaving a legacy of adventure, skill, and deep appreciation for the beauty of the world from above.
Tim is survived by his brother, Mark Larson, sister and brother-in-law Jill and Dan Grover, nephew and niece, Josh (Jessica) Grover and Rebecca Suter, great nephews and nieces Jon, Lilee and Joshua Grover, Jut, Jillian and Livee Suter, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Gus and Eva (Knower) Larson, Carl and Arlene (Schuldt) Meudt and many beloved relatives.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone at BeeHive Homes-Oregon and Agrace for the love and care you gave us. Your dedication and support made our days a little easier and our hearts a little lighter on this journey. We will be forever grateful to you.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow.
Contributions honoring/in memory of Tim can be made to Agrace Hospice, Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, or Dane County Humane Society.
Tim loved flying and loved sports but loved his family even more greatly, having a special bond with his nephew and niece, their children and all our dogs. So many good memories we will cherish forever. As you join your family in Heaven, your family on Earth will miss you! With all our love, forever.
