Timothy Francis Langer

Timothy F. Langer, 63 of Columbus, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the UW Hospital in Madison.

Timothy was born on December 13, 1961 in Mauston, Wisconsin to Francis and Betty (Prochnow) Langer. He attended school in Mauston. He later attended Madison Area Technical College where he completed Electrical Safety and Controls and Safety in Mechanisms Training.

At an early age Tim wanted to be a pilot and fly planes. Unfortunately his dream was dashed when he found out he was color blind. He improvised his mode of transportation to a motorcycle. When he lived in California he rode his bike back to Wisconsin several times. Each time taking a different route.

Tim acquired many of his talents and interests from his father. Tim enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He was a perfectionist and took his time on each project he did. He did several projects for family and friends. They were as large as an entertainment center and as small as a shadow box. Tim enjoyed going to car shows and working on his own vehicles. He would always help out family and friends with their vehicles if needed.

Tim also enjoyed collecting and shooting guns. Tim and his dad would get kits to make black powder guns. They both enjoyed getting out and shooting them after they finished making the guns. He spent his spare time maintaining and adding to his collection. No animals were ever hurt. Tim always enjoyed a cold Budweiser and a good steak on the grill.

Timothy is survived by his brother, David (Terri) Langer of Reedsburg, and his sister, Barbara Langer of Mauston. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Emergency Room staff at Mile Bluff Medical Center and the ICU at the UW Hospital.

A celebration of Timothy’s life is being planned for Spring, and more details will follow.
