Thomas Mark Rohweder, 69, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital Hospice on May 15, 2026. Tom was born March 19, 1957, in Des Moines, IA where he spent his early years until the family relocated to Madison, WI in 1963. 

He was born with Klinefelter syndrome at a time when little was known about the condition. Tom had a challenging yet fulfilling life. In his earlier years, Tom lived independently and enjoyed riding his bike throughout the town. He built lasting friendships while spending time at the Off the Square Club, where he became known for his deep-dish pizza. His culinary talents extended to family gatherings, where he was famous for his shrimp dip and blueberry cream cheese crumble. Tom enjoyed his 70’s music, video games, watching movies and television. 

He also loved cheering for the top NFL teams of the season, playfully teasing family members who supported the Bears, Packers, Vikings, and Cowboys. For the past ten years, Tom lived with his sister, Mary. She provided care, prepared all his meals, and nursed him back to health on multiple occasions. Tom was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. 

He is survived by his sister Mary Vinje (Kevin), nephew Marcus Vinje (Nicole), three nieces, Brittany Vinje, Krista Wilkins (Akeem), Tiffany Thurston and great-nieces and nephews Kara, Ellie, Addie, Bryor, Luxe, and Nova. He was preceded in death by his parents Dwayne and Wilma Rohweder. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on a later date for his family and friends.
