Thomas "Tom" Moore Betts, age 81, passed away peacefully at Home Again Memory Care in Columbus on Thursday, December 7, 2017. He was born on February 27, 1936, in Erie, PA, the son of George E. and Kathryn (Moore) Betts. Tom was united in marriage to Yvonne Alta Raymer on October 20, 1962, in Erie, PA. Together they raised 3 children.

Tom graduated from Academy High School in Erie, PA and then attended Allegheny College. He served in the US Army in the branch of military police and worked as a counselor at Paso Robles Boy's School in California. After residing in California, Tom and Yvonne decided to move to Wisconsin where they could be closer to family. Tom worked for Oscar Mayer and retired after 30 y ears of dedicated work. Some of Tom's favorite past times were listening and playing music, fishing, playing Pinochle and family gatherings.

Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne; his children Glenn (Alice) Betts, Debra (Neal Gruber) Mickelson and Troy(Lori) Betts; his grandchildren Connor, Amanda, Michael, Ashley, Hunter, Hayden, Jevohn, Kaylee and Jordan; his sister Jacqueline Buchanan; his half brother George ( GB) Betts and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 12:00 pm with Reverend Timothy Hansen officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Home Again and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate love and care for Tom.
