Theresa L. “Terry” Taylor, 73, of Madison passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025 surrounded by her family and friends at home losing her fight against kidney cancer.
Terry was born on November 11, 1951 in Valparaiso, Indiana to George and Dorothy (Krivanek) Dolezal. Her family moved to Wisconsin during the start her high school years. She graduated from Hillsboro High School class of 1969. After high school she moved to Madison, WI where she became one of the first female line women at Wisconsin Bell Phone Company. This is where she met her husband Edward X. Taylor, they married on June 4, 1977. Terry retired from the United States Post Office in 2007, after 22 years. Terry was an active participent in the church (Plymouth UCC), Girl Scouts as a leader, the PTO and booster club during the up bringing of her daughters. Through her adult life she was active with the democratic party, workers unions, and women's rights.
Some of Terry's favorite past times were softball, bowling, camping, traveling, quilting, sewing, crafting and gardening. She especially enjoyed hosting/planing events to keep her famliy and friends close and being Up North watching the sunsets with a glass of wine.
Terry is survived by her husband, Edward Taylor; daughters, Sarah Taylor (Jeremy Wipperfurth); Margaret (Maggie) Davis; Grandson Louis (Louie) Davis; sisters, Dorita Dolezal, Rosemary Dolezal, Mildred Barber; nieces and nephews and multiple cousins.
Terry is proceed in death by her parents; bothers, Louis and George Dolezel, and brother in law Donald Barber, and sister in law Kathleen Taylor.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Hernandez and the hospitalist team at SSM Health- St. Mary's Madison and to Agrace Hospice for their assistance and exceptional care for Terry.
A memorial service will take place at Cress Funeral Home -Middleton on August 1, 2025 at 3:00pm. A visitation will take place from 1:00pm until the time of service. A luncheon to follow to honor and celebrate her life.
