Theresa Fraser Martell

Her parents were: Ambrose W. Fraser & Alice E. Flynn
She attended Duluth schools including the College of St. Scholastica. When her parents moved to Superior Wis. She continued her education at University of Wisconsin at Superior.
She married Euclid E. Martell in Ashland Wis. in Dec. 1940. In 1944 she and her husband moved to Berkley/ San Francisco CA. area where they lived for 5 years. In 1949 she and her family returned to Wisconsin, the Superior and then Ashland area. Theresa, her husband and children came to Madison in 1958.
Music, especially the piano, has been an important part of her life. She began piano lessons when she was in the 5th grade. She continued her music studies especially the piano with dedication and discipline for her entire life. She was a charter member of Madison Area Piano Teachers Association and a former member of Wisconsin & National Music Teachers Association as well as Wisconsin Federated Music Club. Theresa was an associate organist & piano teacher at Queen of Peace Church & School for 10 years. She was also the organist for the Catholic Sunday Mass at U.W. Hospital for 25 years. In addition she taught the piano and organ classes at Madison Area Technical College downtown campus for 30 years.
Theresa was an amazing person, always striving to improve and do more. She was an excellent seamstress who designed and sewed clothes for herself and her children. She was also an excellent cook who was always creating new dishes as well diabetic recipes for her daughter Helen.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 1, 2017 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd. Madison. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
