Marshall - Theodore J. Johnson, age 87, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus. He was born on June 23, 1928, in the town of Medina, the son of John and Evelyn (Chadwick) Johnson. Ted served in the Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Della Sharpee on June 16, 1956, in Sun Prairie.
Ted is survived by his wife, Della Johnson, his daughters, Roxanne (Brent) Boynton of Sun Prairie and Roseann (Doug) Spangler of Marshall; two grandchildren, MacKenzie and Amanda Spangler; a brother, Stanley Johnson; a sister, Evelyn Schuhmacher; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Adelbert, Lawrence, Charles, Harold and Willard; a sister, Janice Weihert and nephews, Dean and Matthew.
It was Ted's wish not to have a formal service so a celebration of life will be held at MARSHALL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 318 William St., Marshall, on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jan Beutin presiding. A gathering time will be held at the church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dane County Conservation League, Ducks Unlimited and Wings over Wisconsin.
Ted's family would like to thank the caring staff at Columbus Health and Rehab and Dr. Sam Poser for the wonderful care he received along with Columbus Community Hospital.
