Terry Fillner

Waterloo/Deerfield- Terry A. Fillner, age 55, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016. He was born in Madison on March 5, 1960, the son of Jack and Trudy Fillner. He was confirmed at Deerfield Lutheran Church. Terry graduated from Deerfield High School. On August 11, 1984, he married Dawn Kolowinski at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Terry worked for Eckmayer Inc. for 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, boating, spending time up north with friends and family. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, and watching the Packers play. Terry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dawn; two daughter, Jessica (Caleb Beal), and Tammy (Travis) Collins; three grandchildren, Hunter, Kimber, and Odin; father, Jack (Dolly) Fillner; brother, Dan (Susan Young); sister, Judy; many nieces and nephews; step siblings, Ann (Rick) Newell, Randy (Judy) Dyreson, Mike (Shelley) Dyerson, John (Shelly) Dyreson, Kathy Dyreson, and Danny Gest; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Trudy (Paul) Dyerson; step sister, Paulette Gest; and best friends, Scott, Jerry, and Doug. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Deerfield Lutheran Church, Deerfield, with Rev. Larry Sexe officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following in the church fellowship hall. Friends may greet the family from 12 noon until the time of services Friday at church. In honor of Terry, the family requests that guests wear Camouflage. Please share your memories of Terry.
