Teresa Childers

October 30, 1929 — February 10, 2013

Norwalk - Teresa Childers, age 83, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013. She was born on October 30, 1929 to Lawrence and Helen (Weedon) Gallagher in Washington D.C. Teresa was united in marriage to Glen Childers, who preceded her in death in 2004. She worked at Norwalk City Hall as a utility clerk after her children left home and until her retirement. Teresa and Glen's love for life was evident in everything that they did. Whether it was the trips that they took, a game of tennis, a round of golf, or a quiet ride through the Wisconsin countryside to relish in the fall colors - they did it together. But nothing could match the love that she had for her family. She treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Teresa is survived by her four children, Don (Jan) of San Diego, CA, Paul (Deb) of Springfield, WI, Linda (Mark) Britton of Riverside, CA, and Kevin (Pat) of Riverside, CA; her 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen. She was a loving friend, mother and grandmother. While she is no longer with us, we will forever carry a piece of her in our hearts. Our comfort comes from knowing that she is once again in the arms of her beloved husband Glen. A memorial service will be held at 8:30 a.m. on March 16, 2013 at St. John of God Catholic Church in Norwalk, CA. Memorials in Teresa's name are suggested to American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674 ( www.heart.org ).
