Tamara Hughes-Buettgenbach

Tamara Maureen Hughes-Buettgenbach was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Surrounded by loved ones, Tamara left this world on May 20, 2022, at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She leaves behind a beautiful family that will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Born to Donald and Cleone Hughes on January 5, 1958, Tamara was hardworking and determined. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Friends University in Wichita, KS while working full-time and raising two children. She didn’t care how long it took to achieve her goal and she worked tirelessly until she reached the finish line.

Tamara was a bright light full of love and laughter, you could always tell when she entered the room. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with family and friends. She loved crafting and was often found exercising her creativity doing long weekend projects that consisted of multiple trips to the craft store.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Tamara. She loved watching Disney movies with her grandchildren, Lady and the Tramp was always her favorite. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.

Tamara is survived by her son, Brett (Jennifer) Miller; daughter, Courtney (Clint) Walkner; grandchildren Maddox, Meredith, Margaret, Sawyer, Hadley, and Miriam. She is also survived by her siblings Sandra, Donna (James), Linda, Connie (Dennis), and Mark (Sharon) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tamara is preceded in death by her husband Rex Buettgenbach; parents Donald and Cleone Hughes; siblings Marcie, Karen, and Wayne, and her favorite cat Aspen Riley.

A celebration of life will take place July 7, 2022, at the Lone Girl Brewery in Waunakee, WI from 4:30 - 7:30 PM.
