Suzanne Blotner

August 23, 1929 — May 26, 2014

Madison - Suzanne Zelda Blotner, age 84, passed away peacefully Monday, May 26, 2014 at Attic Angel in Middleton, WI. Suzanne was born August 23, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Sara and Ben Berman. She was certified as an occupational therapist and graduated from Milwaukee Downer College in 1951. She married Harold Blotner on December 9, 1951 and together they raised 3 children. Suzanne enjoyed playing bridge, knitting (She enjoyed helping solve people's knitting problems), and enjoyed every aspect of the work she did at Temple Beth El. Suzanne served as President of Temple Beth El from 1980-1982, as well as being President of the Sisterhood. She enjoyed working in the kitchen at all times of the year, but especially preparing for Food a Rama. She also volunteered at Collector's Corner (run by Hadassah) and conducted some of the bingo sessions at Badger Prairie. She also belonged to a casual neighborhood book club.
Suzanne is survived by her loving husband Harold, 3 sons; David (Sheri) Blotner of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Donald (Deb) Blotner of San Diego, CA, and Richard (Ann) Blotner of West Bloomfield, MI, 6 grandchildren; Joanna, Benjamin, Jarrod, Evan, Stephanie, and Catherine, niece Janet Hankin, nephew Barry Berman, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother Robert Berman and one sister Betty Hankin.
The funeral service will be at 11am Thursday, May 29 at Temple Beth El (2702 Arbor Drive, Madison, WI), with Rabbi Jonathon Biatch presiding. Burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Meal of Consolation will follow the burial at Temple Beth El. There will be a Shivah Service at 7:00pm at Temple Beth El on Thursday, May 29.
