Susan Dye

Madison - Susan Ellen Dye, age 71, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. She was born on November 23, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Oakey) Dye.

Susan graduated from Middleton High School. She would go on to work for the Department of Motor Vehicles for many years until her retirement. Susan was an enthusiastic Wisconsin Badger hockey fan along with her mother, Betty. She also enjoyed attending the spring UW marching band concerts. She loved doing the daily Wonderword puzzles in the Wisconsin State Journal. Also, playing bingo at the Dane Village Hall and treating Tucker, the resident town hall dog, was a delight in her weekly activities.

Susan was an avid collector of Beanie Babies, rubber ducks and Minion memorabilia. She was always willing to share her collection with others to initiate a laugh and a smile.

She was very proud of her nieces Jill, Jayne, and Anna and enjoyed spending time with them. Susan also very much enjoyed her weekend trips to Chicago with her good friend JoAnne and visiting the Swenson family in Arizona.

She is survived by her sister Debra (Mark) Arnold; nieces, Jill (Nathan) Kuenzi, Jayne Arnold, and Anna Arnold.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at church. Susan will be laid to rest next to her parents at Forest Hill Cemetery.
