Deerfield/Cottage Grove- Susan Diane Clark, “Susie Q”, age 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on October 28, 1952 the daughter of Rodney and Charlene Martin Sr. 

Susan graduated from McFarland High School. She was married to William R. Clark and had three sons. Susan worked as an Executive Secretary for Oscar Mayer for 30 years until her retirement. She kept herself busy with several side jobs, including bartending and waitressing, where she enjoyed socializing. Susan appreciated spending time at the cabin in Adams Friendship, garage sales, thrift stores, going on shake runs, reading, and listening to music. Susan was well known for making the best Bloody Mary’s and taco dip. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. 

Susan is survived by her three sons, Troy (Nina), Shane, and John Clark; six grandchildren, Noah, Kaden, Kenidee, Cain, Lillian and Brooke; siblings, Kathy Martin, Patti (Shawn) Martin, Rodney (Jenny) Martin, Deb (Paul) Piquette, David Halverson, and Randy (Bobbi) Rishel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Phillip Halverson; and three brothers, Tommy and Jerry "Jug" Martin, and Steve Santos. 

A celebration of Susie’s life will be held at a later date, with date and time to be announced. 

A special thank you to the SSM Home Health Hospice nurses, especially to Megan and Erica, to Susie’s sister Kathy, and to Susie’s son John, for all of their care of mom to keep her comfortable in her home.
