Monroe/Madison - Steven Allen Crary age 65 passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare in Janesville, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on July 17, 1951 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1969, Steven graduated from Madison East High School, where his musical talent was established by being in the choir and playing the violin and viola. Steven's love for music flourished. He was an extremely talented musician, having the ability to play many different instruments and being in various bands from rock to country to even a polka band. One of Steven's first bands was named, "The Uncalled 4". Steven followed his passion for music and played throughout his whole life. Steven was also known as a hard worker and treasured the time he spent to complete projects at his home. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steven is survived by his son; Nathan (Kimberly) Crary, daughter; Shawne Crary, five grandchildren; Deanna, Jordyn, Jasmine, Cali and Elizabeth, a great grandson; Joshua, his stepmother; Phillis Crary, brother; Douglas (Sharon) Crary, three stepbrothers; Larry (Chris) Cooper, Brett Cooper, and Mark (Stephanie) Cooper, and a stepsister; Kathy McCurdy. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; Robert Crary, mother and stepfather; Doris (John) Olday, his wife; Jackie Crary, life partner; Janice Disch and three infant siblings; Joseph, Gerald and Leona Crary.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at VFW POST #1318, 133 East Lakeside Street, Madison, WI 53715 on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
