Steven C. Briggs

May 26, 1948 — October 27, 2023

Steven C Briggs, 75, died peacefully at his home in Madison on October 27, surrounded by his family, following a prolonged battle with cancer.  Steve was born May 26, 1948, in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Carl V and Carol J (Randall) Briggs.  He attended Madison West High School, graduating in 1966.  Following high school, Steve went to work for the family business, Moseley’s, beginning in the bookstore.  He eventually came to lead the business furniture practice, which ultimately became Paragon Business Furniture Group, and retired in 2018.

A proud Wisconsinite through and through, Steve enjoyed golf, bowling, a good meal, raising a glass, and cheering on the Badgers and Packers.  He volunteered locally for many years with Lions Club and March of Dimes.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jane Renneberg, sons Ryan, Tyler (Alice), and Connor, sister Pamela, and granddaughters Royce and Reaghan.

A public memorial service will be held in Madison at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd, at 1:00 on Tuesday, November 7, followed by a celebration of life at the Great Dane Hilldale from 2:30-4:30.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Doctors A. Hall, K. Bradley, and H. Menon, and the rest of the incredible staff at Carbone Cancer Center, as well as countless nurses and staff from Agrace Hospice for their amazing care and support.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Carbone Cancer Center or Agrace Foundation.
