Stephen Heilprin

Madison - Stephen L. Heilprin, age 81, passed away on August 3, 2022, at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

He was born October 3, 1,940, in Madison to Harry and Flavia (Cooper) Heilprin. After serving in the Navy, he eventually graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Steve went on to work in internal investigations at department stores in Milwaukee and Chicago before retiring. Along with his father, Steve was a committed volunteer at Meriter Hospital for many years.

An avid football fan, Steve loved attending Badgers and Packers games with his family, in addition to caring for his grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Tim) Goke, daughter, Sondra (James) Heilprin-Hoff, son, Howard Heilprin, daughter, Leah (Nathan) Buttchen, and son, Zachary (Michelle) Heilprin, grandchildren, Holly and Alex Goke, Levi Heilprin, Sadie (James) Lawson, Ella, Kellen, Harlow, and Declan Buttchen, great-granddaughter, Montgomery Lawson, sister, Toby Cohn, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will be holding a private memorial service.
