Stella Jacobson

Stoughton - Stella M. Jacobson, age 88, of Stoughton entered her heavenly home peacefully on September 2, 2016 at Sienna Crest Care Facility in Oregon, WI.

Stella was born May 1, 1928 to Clarence and Ella Dalsoren in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School in 1945, after which she entered Beauty School in Madison. Following school she worked as a hair stylist for 2 years in Milwaukee. She met her late husband, Robert L. Jacobson at the Stoughton airport and they were married on June 4, 1949.

Stella worked as an independent hair salon professional, first for 10 years in her own home and later in the Stoughton Plaza at "Stella's Beauty Salon" which she owned and operated for 25 years. After selling the business she retired in 1988.

Throughout the years Stella and Bob and enjoyed dancing at the Edwards Park ballroom in McFarland, playing golf at Stoughton Country Club, where Stella was once Club Champion. Stella loved her Monday evening poker card club which she had for many years. Crossword puzzles, word finds, and knitting encompassed many hours in her later years. They traveled to many places throughout the United States and overseas to such places as Norway, Mexico, New Zealand, and China.

After retirement Stella and Bob enjoyed their winters in Ocala Florida for 19 years and then spent the rest of the time at their home on County Hwy. B. They later lived at Vennevoll in Stoughton.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Agrace Hospice team & Sienna Crest in Oregon and for all of their excellent and compassionate care given to Stella.

Stella is survived by sons Thomas (Gretchen) and Scott (Debbie), daughter Vicki Otto (Richard), 5 Grandchildren, Casey Otto, Lindsey Morgel (Nick), Carly Otto, Shelby Jacobson, Lauren Jacobson, and two great grandchildren, Gitana Rave, and Bentley Gleason.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, infant son Scott R Jacobson, and Granddaughter Sarah E. Otto

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, with Rev. Jerry Tews presiding. Interment will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11 am at the church before the funeral service and a lunch will be served at the church following interment.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used for Stella's favorite charities.
