Stefan Iordachescu

June 13, 1923 — February 7, 2015

Stefan N Iordachescu (Steve) age 91 passed away peacefully on Feb 7 2015 at UW hospital. He was born June 13 1923 to Oneata and Nicolae Iordachescu in Soimari Romania. He met his wife to be in Germany during WWII as displaced persons. He and Silvia tied the knot in Germany 1949. He came to the U.S with his wife and two of their soon to be four children in 1951. A man with many skills, languages and mathematics to name a few he attended UW Madison for business and real estate but soon realized he must join the trades to provide for his growing family. He learned the art of construction and by 1962 moved into a new house he and Silvia built with their four hands on the west side of Madison. By that time they had added two more children a daughter and a son. He worked for various large construction firms and had his part in building more than a few of the monumental buildings and homes in town. In the early 80's he and his son Steve formed their own company and did small residential remodels before moving on to commercial construction. They worked together for over 22 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing walking the beach in Florida, good food and conversing with others. He remained physically active, and looking much younger than his years until 2010 when his first of 3 stokes robbed him of his abilities. He is preceded in death by his wife Silvia who passed in March 2012. He is survived by his four children, Lya, Mick, Marietta and Steve and three grandchildren. Dad, Your humor, your mischievous smile, your loving touch, and all you did for us kids. What a man you were! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love you Dad....
