Stefan Hastenrath

Stefan Hastenrath passed away on March 9, 2025 in Madison. Stefan was born July 10, 1934 in Budapest Hungry to the late Peter and Elizabeth Hastenrath. Stefan obtained his Phd from the University of Bonn, Germany. His passion for atmospheric and oceanic science brought him to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was affiliated for over 32 years as a professor/professor emeritus.

There will be a graveside service held for Stefan on Monday, April 7th at Forest Hill Cemetery, 1 Speedway Road, at 10:30 am. Please meet us at the main gate and we will process together to his final resting place.
