Stanley Dean Johnson, 71, of Sun Prairie (formerly Redgranite) passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living.
Stan was a Halloween baby, born on October 31, 1954 in Berlin, Wisconsin to his parents, Allen “Swede” and June (Malnory) Johnson. He grew up in Redgranite, graduating from Wautoma High School in 1972. After graduating from UW Eau Claire with a degree in accounting, he returned to the Pickle Factory, where he worked as a teenager. His next job was as Controller for Mueller Sports Medicine, in Prairie Du Sac, which became his second family, working there for over 35 years until his retirement. Stanley spent his weekends returning to Redgranite to spend time with and care for his beloved Mother; aunts Mydell and Ardis; and uncle Harlow. He was also very active in his church, including teaching Sunday school for over 45 years.
He is survived by his siblings; Gary (Mary) Johnson, Gene (Debbie) Johnson, Bob (Millie) Johnson, Connie (Dave) Kiekbusch; sister-in-law, Connie Johnson; nieces and nephews Brian, Marc, Michael (godson), Erik, Chelsea, Eli, Laura and Bryce, as well as many grand nieces and nephews.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Swede and June Johnson; brother, Al Johnson; and sister, Dawn Johnson.
Special thank you to Prairie Gardens for the love and care shown to Stan every day. Thank you also to Bristol Hospice for your care and support during his final days.
A funeral service will take place at 2PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at First Congregational Church, 887 Bonnell Ave. Redgranite, WI. A visitation will take place from 12PM until the time of service, with a meal to follow immediately after the service. Family and guests will meet at 4:45PM for a committal service at Shead Island Cemetery in the Town of Aurora.
