Shoko Narita, age 70, died on July 28th 2012 after a thirty-one year battle with cancer. True to the meaning of her name, female warrior, Shoko acted with courage and strength throughout her life. She raised three children, ran Mary's Tailoring for twelve years, and worked with her partner, Bruce Edwards, at Tellus Mater. Most of all Shoko surrounded her family and friends with joy, wisdom and love. She is survived by her three children, Tomohiko Narita, Mariko Narita, and Emi Reiner and her four grandchildren, Anders Narita, Corbin Narita, Sophia Reiner, and Lilian Reiner. A Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm, followed by a Remembrance Ceremony from 4 pm to 5 pm, on Sunday, August 19th at Cress Funeral Home on 3610 Speedway Road, Madison.
