Madison - Shirley Mead Schuster, age 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in Madison on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011. She will be greatly missed by her loving children and their partners Mark (Mary) of West Bend, Michael (Karen) of Madison and Michelle Caro (Patrick) of Verona, and her grandchildren Angela, Adam, Jordan, Emily and Dustin, and her only great-grandchild, Kevin. Born August 15, 1927 and raised in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, she worked with her parents and siblings in their Mineral Point family grocery store. After graduating from Mineral Point High School, she attended Secretarial College and worked in Washington D.C. for a time before coming back to Madison. In Sept. of 1948, she married Aaron ""Red"" Schuster and they lived and worked in Madison for a while before settling in Mineral Point.    In 1961, they moved their young family back to Madison. She was actively involved with Beth Israel Center and was employed as a secretary there, as well as Davis-Duehr.   After retirement, Shirley and Aaron enjoyed volunteering at Meriter Hospital .   Shirley also enjoyed volunteering at HospiceCare. Though her family has always been her main focus, some of her hobbies were watching the Badgers and Packers, Lifetime movies and the cooking channel, baking, board games, cards, and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron and her 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. She will always be remembered lovingly by her family and friends.    Shirley was always there whenever she was needed. Jewish Funeral Services will be at 11a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, with a visitation at 10a.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley and Aaron's memory to Beth Israel Center, 1406 Mound St., Madison, Wisconsin.  We would like to thank Dr. Longo and Dr. Cleary of UW-Hospital for their wonderful, compassionate care of our mom. We will always have you in our hearts, Mom.  We love you.
