Shirley L. Graffin

Shirley L. Graffin, age 85, passed away at Nazareth House in Stoughton on Friday, March 4, 2011.   She was born in Medina on August 14, 1925, a daughter of Theophil & Hazel (Wilke) Schroeder.   On May 1, 1943, she was united in marriage to Benno Graffin.   Shirley is remembered as a very giving person, who loved and helped to raise her grandchildren.   She was a great cook, baker and gardener.   Shirley is survived by 2 children, Louis (Wanda) Graffin, and Susan (Martin) Boedeker; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Larry D. Graffin; a grandson, Carl Eason; a brother, Harlene; and a sister, Lois.   Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 138 County BB, Deerfield, with the Rev. Paul Burk officiating.   Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove.   The family will greet friends on Wednesday, March 9th from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Cress Funeral Home in Deerfield, and again at church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   Special thanks to HospiceCare, Inc. and to everyone at Nazareth House.
