Shirley A. Dalman, age 90, passed away peacefully in her home, on December 3, 2025. She was born February 27, 1935 in Rockdale, Illinois to Walter & Anna Dalman. After high school, Shirley worked at Illinois Bell for many years. Shirley was never married; however, she was a loving aunt to her two nieces, Laurie Briones and Gina McCready, and had a lifelong best friend, Lorraine Fedo. Upon her retirement in 1990, she moved from Illinois to Las Vegas, where she soon found herself head over heels with her beloved little Westie puppy, Princess. While in Las Vegas, Shirley enjoyed the warm weather, the company of her father and step-mother, Walter V. Dalman and Lois M. (nee Randolph) Dalman, and enjoyed many fun times with Lorraine and Lorraine’s husband, Ray. She loved seeking out the bargain buffets, enjoying the shows that Las Vegas had to offer, finding the “hot” slots, working part-time at a cookie store in the mall to keep her active, and traveling throughout with friends.
Shirley was a woman of faith, practiced her religion, and shared a love and belief of angels alongside Lorraine. In 2005, she moved from Las Vegas to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin with Lorraine, after the passing of Walter, Lois and Ray. While in Wisconsin, she made many new friends at her apartment building and enjoyed helping with activities and gatherings.
Shirley is survived by her two nieces, Laurie (Deo) Briones and Gina McCready, 4 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews, her sister-in-law Pamela A. (nee Foidl) Dalman, and several dear friends, most especially Lorraine’s daughter, Kimberly and her husband, David Veith.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Walter V. Dalman & Anna F. nee Bolte Dalman, her step-mother Lois M. (nee Randolph) Dalman, her brother Robert A. Dalman, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Shirley will be buried in Joliet, Illinois in St. Joseph Cemetery, next to her parents, per her wishes at a later date.
